According to Y-DNA the Bahimas and Tutsi, who are supposed to be descendents of the Bachwezi, are no different from Bantus genetically. Infact they may be indegenous to the great lakes region while Bantu farmers arrived later.

Bantu people belong to West African(Congo-Niger) Haplogroup E3a so do the Bahimas and Tutsi (am yet to come accross a satisfactory explanation as to why they do not look like bantu but rather the people of the horn of Africa). That is to say Bantu are related to west Africans as far west as Senegal. People of the horn of African namely Oromo, Somalis and most Ethiopian belong to Haplogroup E3b which is sister to west African E3a. They are children Haplogoup E which is found in West Africa. Included in the E3b group are Egyptian and other North Africans ("white"), funny enough.

Luos on the other hand belong to the Haplogroup B and to certain extent Haplogroup A which is common among Bushmen of South Africa. This is a Haplotype(B) common among the Nilo-Sahara (formerly reffered to as Nilotic). The Luo do not seem to have affected the Bantu gene pool that much since most Bantu in the region are up to 85-90% E3a. The irony is the Hutus of Rwanda and Burundi, who are supposed to be pure Bantus, show more foreign admixture than the Tutsi.

Haplogroup is a way of grouping populations through their genes. Instead of asking for your tribe, skin color or language, scientists test your DNA to find which genetic group you fall into. Here is a small sample of these large "DNA tribes":

* Haplogroup A (Africa, especially the Khoisan, Ethiopians, and Nilotes)
* Haplogroup B (Africa, especially the Pygmies and Hadzabe)
* Haplogroup C (Australia & surrounding areas, Siberia, Japan, North America)
* Haplogroup D (Tibet, Japan, the Andaman Islands)
* Haplogroup E (Africa, the Middle East, the Mediterranean)
* Haplogroup E3a (Africa)
* Haplogroup E3b (East Africa -Ethiopians and Somalians, North Africa -especially Berbers & Egyptians, the Middle East, the Mediterranean)

We are grateful for the news you are providing us with updating us on our little country Uganda. I must say I am pleased that finally someone caught people's attention when they wrote that article of 'lazy Besigye people'. The thing is many people wanted to hear the other side of the story. As they say 'tosala gwakawala nga tonasala gwa kalenzi'.

There was need to hear people's views on whatever is being written here and I must commend you for making that decision to put that story out. As someone said, there is a bad side to every one and a goodside but obviously the human nature makes us enjoy get attracted to the bad side more than the good side. I wish this site could help tackle some of those problems, or people give suggestions on how to change our country around.

I don't find much offence in that story actually. It is someone's view so there is no need for hostilities as I read from some responses.

one of your letter writers has said that Moses Ali is a killer who put his Dad on the firing squad.

I also suspect that the same man Moses Ali played a part in the disappearance of a Mr. Lugolobi, who used to run a very successful transport business in Nakivubo when Moses Ali was a powerful Minister of Finance under Amin.

This incident happened when Mr. Lugolobi held a housewarming party at his new house. When Moses came to the party, he looked around and seemed angry that this man had such a big house. Ali openly told those at the party that Lugolobi is a show-off who is dangerous to the government. "Who does this man think he is to build a palace like this?" Moses Ali was heard wondering aloud.

Jjumba Masagazi was one of the people who heard Moses Ali's threats. He thought it was a joke.

Ali left the party immediately and a few hours later, Mr. Lugolobi was picked up by State Research men . He has never been seen again .

It seems Moses Ali has blood on his hands!

On Muhoozi Military Training:

That is very bad news for Ugandans. We have presidential monarchs these days, if you have been keen on this . Dont be suprised at all. You know what happened in Togo. After Eyadema Snr. died, the Tinyefuza's of Togo made sure that Eyadema Jr. takes over from the father. They organised a sham election of course and the rest is history.

Well, I hear Kony is also back and this time no jokes! The SPLA has already tasted his viciousness. 22 soldiers and a Major killed. I see desaster coming.

In Bunyoro, something is boiling in the pot. The Banyoro will not see anything from that much touted oil. Just wait and see.

Bahiima are already salvating for it and we hear they are determined to be the wealthiest in this nation. ( you know why they are saying it now). 2011 will be fire for fire.

We only need God's intervention. Otherwise this M7 era will have a very bad legacy.

hello fellow Ugandans, we are going down the drain quite literally. The country is a mess and to know that, one has to leave the country to see how fast the world is moving ahead. Even neighbouring African countries. Last but not least, let Amin rest in peace for those who pretend they didnt live in the country in the 70's cause believe it or not he is the best nationalistic leader we have had. If we are to look at the development and foreign exchange rates at the time it is a pity. I wasnt born till early 80's but with information I gather its sad our elders can't approve of a great man and if he was in power till his demise well most of you would be proud of your country coz he loved his country right!

Hello everyone,I hope you are all ok. Well, the reason I'm writing today is because I want you to know from this day that alot has been said and written about Museveni yet little has been said and written about General Salim Saleh a.k.a Caleb Akandwanaho. Born on 14 January 1960, he is the president's half-brother (same mother of Rwandese Tutsi origin but different fathers. Salim Saleh's father is of Somali origin hence the name Salim Saleh).

Anyway, this man is the most powerful man in Uganda. Someone close to this "clique of death" (includes the deadly Museveni, Salim Saleh, David Tinyenfuza, Leo Kyanda, Amama Mbambazi, Sam Kutesa and Aronda Nyakairima) told me that even if it seems like Museveni is in control, Salim Saleh is really in control of everything and he could be the richest of all (ill gotten wealth of course).

The same person also told me that these guys are also in preparation for the 2011 elections and what they are planning is very sad indeed and cruel. Ugandans with ears, please listen and be vigilant, these people are planning something sinister and they are planning to cling onto power by any means (including the tactics they used in 1994 in Rwanda and Luwero and they have now perfected these deadly tactics).

If you are still sleeping, wake up because these guys want to keep you sleeping and enslaved and will do anything to keep it that way unless you STAND UP, RESIST THE OPPRESORS AND SAY NO, NO, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. If you don't prepare yourselves now, don't say you were never warned!!

This is in response to the suckers who are very weakly defending the greatest looter of Uganda and Congo's resources, the greatest abuser of Ugandan Human rights Uganda has ever had, with just a weak his pass degree from TZ

Museveni's children have also not done well at getting college degrees, if they went at all. Even his wife got a mature Education degree without attending classes. So birds of a feather really flocked together and even had dumb kids.

Just a few examples that show how shallow Museveni is and makes the so called great "Butcher" Amin look positively brilliant:

1. Barter trade was one of Musevenis bone head ideas, that had peasants growing beans, peas, soya etc... and hoping to exchange them for oil or diamonds or even cars. What a big joke.

2. He was quoted as saying that African economies were poor because of low populations, so we need more children so that there will be a big market for our products! Duh! Look at the hospitals, schools and the roads. The "wise man" is in charge of a population of 28 million and has failed to provide hospitals, there are no doctors, no medicines to take care of those, so what will he do with a population of say 50 million?

3. Once while commissioning some changes at British American Tobacco (BAT), a whole President of Uganda said that smoking cigarettes was a good thing! That the only problem was that people were smoking them "badly", that they were "swallowing" the smoke. He advised people to smoke but not to "swallow" the smoke! Reminds me of a retarded primary school kid advising his friend to repair his broken slipper with mud!

The list of Museveni howlers are endless because the man like one infamous journalist in Uganda called him has a very a limited mind. For a man to stand in front of people and praise high food prices, it shows how simplistic his mind is, because he never goes to Nakasero market. Has he ever heard of middle men and wholesalers, retailers and consumers? He thinks that the farmers will even see a penny of the high food prices? will it not be the traders to make a killing? How many farmers have trucks to transport their produce? what moronic thinking!

ACTUALLY IT IS THESE LAZY PEOPLE OF M7 IN GOVERNMENT THAT ARE USED TO FREE THINGS LIKE : STATEHOUSE BURSARIES, DUBIOUS CONTRACTS OR TENDERS, HOT JOBS WITHOUT INTERVIEWS, FREE ACCESS TO LOANS WITHOUT INTEREST ( ACTUALLY FREE MONEY), FREE LAND, FREE MEDICAL SERVICES OVERSEAS, QUICK PROMOTION IN ARMY ETCETRA. THAT IS WHY THEY ARE ROBBING UGANDA TO THE LAST DOT. ALL THESE, THEY ARE ROBBING FROM HARD WORKING UGANDANS AND OTHER GENEROUS PEOPLE FROM OUTSIDE UGANDA.

Hello Guys,

Regarding Radio Katwe being run by lazy supporters of Besigye, I think the problem is that our colleague does not understand the rather long history of deeply disfunctional leaders in this world.

I would invite him to study, to name but a few, Pol Pot, Stalin, Kim Il Sung, among others. These leaders were so selfishly power hungry, and deeply disturbed they did such crazy, evil things, that caused unimaginable suffering to their people. In most cases it took many decades for the true nature of their regimes to be understood. During their reign a lot of evil was shrouded in propaganda, and the common man did not see the reality.

I encourage our colleague to read his history. He will see that there is a pattern in all these things!

On another note, that fellow who wrote about witchcraft being the driving factor... Very interesting, and plausible in my opinion.

Dear Editor RK,

After your 'Readers respond to "lazy Besigye supporters" letter and more' and noting that some of M7's cadres are now out to defend the thug through our RK, I wish to ask you to publish my request sent about three weeks ago. The request was to enable RK readers contribute to different themes around M7, his antics and personality. If you will do a search of the articles sent over the last one month you will note that I had proposed a weekly thematic discourse with the first week topic being about M7, spiritualism and the Occult.

I had pointed out how sometime around 1996 the local Orumuri Newspaper had published an article concerning a certain witchdoctor by the names of Kibunu predicting to M7, his wife Janet and daughter Natasha that Museveni would rule Uganda until 2011.

The purpose of this note is to ask you to revisit that article which you never published and find out if it ripe for publication under the circumstances outlined in my opening sentence above.

Can someone tell me more what goes on at International Hospital Kampala (IHK)? Two close relatives of mine died at this International Hospital in the past few years, under mysterious circumstances, even though their illness were not life threatening. I think there is some fishy deal going on there, especially for those who do not support NRM. Anybody with the inside information will be helpful.

I also would like to know who is the best medical malpractice lawyer or law group in Uganda.

Good news!! Peter Piot of UNAIDS resigned! Peter was the king of HIV/AIDS so was Yoweri Museveni and his wife Janet. While Ugandans for the past two decades suffered the injustice of HIV/AIDS. Museveni was hailed to fight HIV/AIDS, his wife was a master advocate of condom use, now she is an "abstain" campaigner.

One of my ex boyfriends who was an NRM official in the Eastern region bragged about picking women from the streets and bars took them home and had sex with them and then threw them to his guards! I couldn't believe my ears after spending my life in U.K for a longtime, that such things exist and one can bragg about to a woman about abusing her fellow women like that. One wonders was he comfortably spreading the HIV virus? Was he one of those Museveni said President Castro of Cuba warned him about? Or he was just justifying his hatred for such women or women in general?

Women should come together and bring these men to justice. All those from Luwero, Semuto, Teso, Gulu, West Nile, Western Uganda, Karamoja and all parts of the world. These monsters have moved on changed names, nationalities, moved countries but their actions are still the same. It is important the mothers of this world to tackle this important crime on innocent women. Women have suffered a lot and no more suffering on the hands of such criminals.

Thanks radio katwe for the work though some stories seem to be out of this world. Anyway i would like you guys to fill me in on stories that i hear of about pimps in Kampala that smuggle in Russian, Asian and American ladies to work as prostitutes and if true who are these pimps and is it also true that these people do drugs and money laundering because this rumour has been going on for a while. please let me know. thanks

URGENT INVESTIGATION.

Dear radiokatwe,therez now a constant fire rampage all over in schools. Security officials are saying that ADF is now tight in Kampala, and they are the ones doing such things.

But from Museveni's dirty tactics, as we have read b4, dont u think he is the one doing that, such that he can create fear among the local people whom he calls peasants?

For sure it looks similar to what he has been doing b4. I heard that he hired someone from Cameroon in witchcraft, and ended up burning pupils at Buddo school. But in order to cover up the secret, I think they have started causing lots and lots other fires in other schools trying to seal off that issue of Buddo. And at the same time putting the blame on ADF.

Museveni has billions of dirty tricks. omusajja tagwayo. Please put a detailed investigation on that. We think that those are also some of Museveni's dirty tricks. Can u immagine even the report of Buddo was finished but not released? Even no one dares to ask about it? And there r so many reports compiled but sat on by State House. Mayombo report, Kayiira report, Buddo report, Kicwamba report and so many others.

U can even notice that during Buddo investigations, police was comming in to seal off some evidences, which were so obvious, e.g first people on scene of buddo burning said they saw two adult bodies, but the police concealed that, went on even directing people not to talk more till report is out. Now report completed, but is put in State House?

Dont u think Museveni has matured and attained a Phd in Dirty tricks as of now? And all his officers, near him are all dirty, dirty, dirty, dirty, dirty.
