Whose errand was Tamale Mirundi running?

Im giving you information about Tamale Mirundi the Presidential Press Secretary. A few months back during the on going case where The Mufti Sheikh Shaban Mubajje, Hassan Basajjabalaba and Dr Edris Kasenene were in court for the case of illegally selling property belonging to the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC). Buganda road court magistrate Justice Margaret Tibulya was in charge of that case.

Prior to passing judgement, Tamale Mirundi offered about 100M to the judge and asked her to make a favorable judgement for the trio. However the judge chased Mirundi out of her chambers and almost called in the police to arrest him. If it wasn't Mirundi kneeling down and pleading with the judge to spare him. He had just gotten job of PPS. I think Mirundi just ate the cash and it didn't go back to its origin.

Don't fall for false Stalinist dawn

Sir, Re Plots to replace Museveni

Is all the talk about a group or groups putting their heads to replace Museveni for real or is it some rumour and intrigue ochestrated by his network of informers and spies in order to bait and sniff out his political competitors.

You know Museveni's hero - Josip Broz Stalin did that kind of of thing as a prelude to the purges and liquidation of political rivals both real and imaginary. I beseach RK to throw more light. On the other hand if it true that everyone including those close to him such as Rugunda, Bukenya are fed up - not suprising then they should come out in the open.
Thanks

Hail the emperor and his A380

Dear Radio Katwe,

I would like to inform all readera of RK and all Ugandans, that Yoweri Museveni will not leave power whatever Ugandans say. There is no way the king of kings, a revolutionary can leave power before he enjoys oil money.

Fellow Ugandans, wait for the coronation ceremony of the emporor. With the oil money, he will be able to buy a golden crown, a golden bed and an Airbus 380 with golden toilet seats.

Fellow Ugandans, do not be surprised to learn that the Airbus 380 that you hear one Ugandan has bought, belongs to the revolutionary. There is no way a man (Mike Ezra) whos father was recently sent to prison over 15 million Ugs debt and whose mother sold a house but refused to move out can afford an A380 which Uganda as nation can not buy. How many Uganda business men travel on diplomatic passports?

To Baganda I say, "NEVER SUPPORT A PERSON OF DUBIOUS ORIGIN AGAIN"

Take the next step Mr President

Hallo to you all,

Am writing still to the president but in the moment of wondering, why? if he can go a head and hand over the chairmanship of EAC , why don't he go a head and give out the big chair of the country? When he reached Kabale on his way back from handing over EAC Chair, he called the reporter and started alleging about his coming back in 2011 that there are inside NRM people who want to take him away. Mr president, just get ashamed and give up power.

What has juju got to do with it?

Dear RK

Thanks for all the pointers you bring to us about what is happening in our country. This is in response to the person who wrote the article 'There's nothing wrong with seeing witch doctors'. I wish I knew you I would give u a big big hug. Iam of a strong view that we are losing the plot completely.

I do understand all the grievances that we have about the man ruling our country and that it is only natural to criticise where we feel the need, but what has seeing a witch doctor got to do with it? Does this not go to show how idle some of us are? Let's discuss matters of economic importance and development and the way forward instead of concentrating on issues like 'M7 seeing a witch doctor'. I am a faithful reader of this forum but keep thinking if a person like a European read what goes on here, they would cry for us. What M7 does as a person has got nothing to do with how he governs the country.

Like the writer of that article pointed out, some of you, well educated, well travelled, well informed still believe in witch craft. You criticise M7 but what makes you think anyone else who comes in power will do any different? May be you are expecting someone like Amin to order the printing of more money. Uganda is moving forward and despite the fact that people complain of not having money, I am yet to hear of massive deaths as a result of 'hunger' in Uganda. Ugandans have an extravagant way of spending wanting to spend what they have before they know what tomorrow holds, we have no saving culture, no investment culture yet all these things have been enabled just by the peace in the country which this so called 'evil' man brought us.

Banks are giving out loans to people to start up businesses but still the way we utiise these resources is still unsatisfactory. There are plenty of people who leave their homes in the morning to come and sit on Kampala streets while others work and those are the vey ones screaming that M7 has taken all the money. I do understand there are those who genuinely cannot even afford two meals a day but the majority especially those who are exposed enough to write articles here, can afford and even guide their families on how to manage.

May I remind you that the issue of money, jobs and all you complain about are not going to come to you as you sit and whinge. M7 might be seeing witch doctors, I do not know, but if he sees them and you believe they do work, go visit them for all the money you supposedly need. Whoever comes into power will feed his people and will also do all those allegedly bad things m7 has done. I am of the view that as long as there is peace, money is scarce everywhere but people learn to improvise but do not go blaming leaders. We just have a lazy culture that's all.

In the diaspora they can tell you that Ugandans top on the list of people claiming state benefits, why? Because we like free things, why do we go out to work when the state can provide? While other Africans go to work, Ugandan women are pushing kids in buggies to go and claim benefits. This culture follows us wherever we go. So fellow Ugs, I may have offended some of you, I am sorry but sometimes the truth hurts and I know this will be met with much criticism but hey, I have said what I have to say and will be waiting for all your aggrieved comments and will be smiling at your views. I salute you all.

Bling bloke omuyaaye.

Afande Kayihura, Rugunda, supervise and do your work!

RPC and IOV northern region are Thieves

There are many things going wrong in Gulu with the Police department, but the big shots are sweeping under the carpets. These are the people soiling the reputation of the institution.

I write to bring to the attention of the office of the Inspector Genereal of Police, the abusive use of offices by both the Inspector of Vehicle (IOV), and the Regional Police Commander (RPC).

Many complaints have been sent to the office of the RPC regarding the arrogant, abusive and scandalous conducts of the IOV, but no action is being taken. This is not different from Ssebutinde report that implicated the now-pardoned RPC.

The IOV lures ladies who come for driving permits, and has on many occasions sexually abused them. He extorts a lot of money from accident car owners.

The most open example is the current woman he moves in pubs with in the evening hours and transacts official business (signing permit forms) and taking bribes. He gave her two classes of permit at a go. The staff at face technology say the IOV entered the details of this woman on the computer himself. And he does with many others.

But that is not all. This was a housewife, who he has now caused to be separated from her angry husband. Despite signing before the RPC, the families of the lady and that of the man, that the IOV shall not be seen with this lady, no action has been taken on this officer, and the RPC just looks on. The families have abandoned the woman out of frustration they have got from RPC's office. No one visits this woman, and the children.

A family member privy to that meeting detail told me that the RPC ordered the man to give the woman the children. But now, the children are living in the Police barracks with the IOV. This is not right.

This is a very disappointing response from the office of the RPC. Other police officers whom I talked to are bitter about it but they say "the RPC cannot bite the hand that feeds him".

Something is wrong here, and should be investigated. These are people who act inappropriately, taking advantage that Kampala is far from here.

Dear officer, thank you. Your sense of justice and responsibility is applauded. The top bosses in Kampala, Afande Kayihura and his boss, the so-called "Ndugu" Rugunda are very busy harassing innocent Ugandans in Kampala, and telling naked lies with no shame like small boys to the public even in Parliament. But rest assured your message has arrived directly to their desks.

Keeping record of our stolen wealth

There was once a Uganda Consolidated Properties (UCP), subsidiary of UDC which owned properties in Kampala - Kololo, Bugoloobi, Muyenga/Kisugu, Makindye, Embassy House, Development House the current Mousa (sp) Courts beonging to Moses Kigongo, flats on Kintu Road next to Sheraton Kampala Hotel, the list is endless. It also had properties in Jinja, Tororo, Mbale, and other parts of the country. This comopany was closed and these properties were taken by God knows who. Plot 2 Jinja Road was taken by a certain Kiwanuka of Oscar Industries who sold it to the DFCU Bank. A brother of the same man stole Kabaka's land at Mutungo.

Please RK, investigate the UCP properties, Plot 2 Jinja Road and Kabaka's land at Mutungo

Thank u

Are we headed to Mugabe's Zimbabwe?

Dear RK,
Is Uganda heading the Zimbabwenian way or trying to emulate the Mugabe Regime. we now see for example those campagning hard for M7's fourth term come what may! Major Roland Kakooza Mutale and now Maj General Kahinda Otafiire admantly stated using very strong language and warning that "NRM will not hand over power even if it looses the democratic election. That MRM fought for power and will not relinquish it to the opposition." where did we hear this rhetoric before!!! from Mugabe of course!!!

if this is the case then why waste tax-payers money and peoples's time by conducting elections when knowing very well that you will not accept what the people decide? wouldnt it be more appropriate as it is the norm with M7 to hand out envelopes and pass a bill to make him Emperor for life and eat away all the oil revenue etc with no questions asked.

dear Ugandans are we being forced to resort to yet another armed struggle or worse still join up with the LRA in order to force M7 out of power if they cannot accept democratic elections!!

there are those who think that those of us who express our views on RK are anti-M7 but i for one i do not hate M7 as a person but simply cannot accept the way he is taking Uganda and treating it as his personal property leave alone not accepting parliament's decisions. If you critisise him then you are picked up by the Police and charged with terrorism. we simply cry and hunger for democracy and transperancy in Government machinery.

Corruption stems from the top in M7's government and is a cancer which has spread!!why is it a sin to critisise M7 or his cabinet/family if we see rampant abuse of power and thinking that he is the only wise man who knows what is good for Uganda and all Ugandans.

What is in a name?

UGANDAN LEADERS AND THEIR STRANGE NAMES: Dear RadioKatwe Readers,

Can someone out there, throw some light on why President Museven's trusted men have something in common as far as their names are concerned? Some of them are Westerners but the names are never straight forward names and I will give a few examples:

1. Salim Sale- This name is not related to any Western Uganda tribes.

2. Kazini- You will never trace this name in Western uganda.

3. Kale-Kihaihura- This one is not proud of his first name which is Kalekyezi, may be because the name is associated to people of Rwanda origin.

4. Kulaije-This was the Army Spokesman for sometime, he claims to be a Mufumbira of Kisoro origin but this name is new to Bafumbira, may be he is called Karuhije which is a Rufumbira name.

Is this a coincidence, or there is something these names try to conceal? I don't want to believe what I think. This could be pointing to what worries every Ugandan. Is Uganda in Ugandans' hands? God help us!

JK, Kampala.

Machete story is fake!

Dear Editor

Thank you for informing the world about your good work on East Africa. I have been reading your articles some of them contain real matter but others are fake like the one on machetes. I have no friendship with the two leaders although I have met them on different forums in my youth days.

We all know that Kagame and Museveni are friends and one groomed the other in search for freedom that allowed many of us to return home. I have lived in Rwanda soon after the genocide and seen the trend of change that is taking place which is impressive to eyes of many. Much as it's claimed to be one sided government, which is true? Its 9 million people are living together in peace and harmony. For example the crime rate is low which is a good indicator of peace and security.

In addition we all know that there are many challenges in establishing a sound post conflict administration especially after volatile environment like Rwanda or Bosnia. The element of bringing back the trust among the people is always difficult but one could champion it by acknowledging what Kagames government has been able to achieve in the last fews years. Nevertheless, much as it earns credit, the government of kagame has faced with many weakness as shall be discussed later.

As Rwandan living in Diaspora, we should refrain from presenting distorted information which may be dangerous to our future generation. Much as I agree with the editor views and use freedom of expression to exercise his or her rights, the machete stories is faked one. Please always refer to other people's literature if you want to understand "Tutsi genocide". However, there are issues that may be real and attract your attention like the roles of RPF in the genocide which has remained silent and unquestioned. There are several writers or scholars or human rights bodies that have presented or published what transpired during the 1990s conflict. If you could relate your writing on their reference that would be good publication. Similarly the post conflict Rwanda has got more literature than any other conflict in the region hence a need to always educate the masses on the truth may earn RK more mileage.

However, I also have much to say about Kagame's and Musevenis governments, the two leaders are in "Himasification" and "Tutsification" of the region by setting a wrong precedence. Like the administration is Rwanda is one sided, no one opposes it and the political atmosphere is in limbo as it only RPF talking the other parties have been made silent or given them good posts and live in luxurious life style. Similarly, the good jobs that are juicy are occupied by Hima in Uganda. The element of discrimination is secretly done and hunting both sides as one is looking for justice as tool for suppression and governance. But there are other indicators being ignored that would help the countries to prosper, the judicial independence , transparency and accountability of the tax payers money, failure the genocide ideology , infrastructure, respect of human rights , media freedom , freedom of expression and assembly, provision of good health system and fighting poverty. IHK insiders, please help

Hello radiokatwe,I once again write to you about the matchettes the late soldier mentioned. I didn't ask him what year it was because he just kept on narrating his sad story and I must mention that I didn't mean the entire tribe or every tutsi but I mearnt that because the masterminds are tutsi's with a big following, then it's worth noting that the 1994 genocide could have been started by them and not the other way round as we've been made to believe.

Well,I don't know the year because he I didn't take note of the year because I didn't know that he was going to tell me what he told me simply because I had gone to see him for something else but I'm sure people know him and people know what year/s he was working with the military intelliegence and where Kagame's office was and what year he left or was sacked but that was what he told me and it's exactly what I wrote personally.

Thank you sir for writing to clarify, and also Igabo Nziza. This in reference to "How an NRA soldier discovered machettes in Kagame's office" of July 26

M7, come 2011, "abalwaanyi bo" are lying in wait

Radio Katwe, Thank you very much for the voice you have given us poor 'Balwaanyi Ba m7'(Fighters) I once again salute you in the name of God and Mother Land Uganda.

I thank my friends from Semuto and Luwero in general who have supported the struggle by enlightening fellow Ugandans what this area is all about. believe it or not, even M7 himself knows that we deserve better than this. believe me without people like myself and you guys, no body is going to speak for us, no body will ever take the Semuto, Luwero Barner anywhere near recognition. Even this government recognises that people of Luwero have serious issues which should be addressed, BUT they will never act upon them.

We are waiting for you m7 come 2011. what are you going to tell your poor 'Balwaanyi bo'? i think you are running out of ideas, time will come, you wont even stop to say anything to the people of semuto. commenting to the issue of 'Luguudo'(Road)which seem to bother all fighters (Balwaanyi bange), you can realise that all of them have something in common in terms of what they want. not individual gains as you may think. and this is what we are clamouring for.

Set up Infrastructures which will benefit even our grand children. At least, sweet-talk Non-Governmental Organisation to come to these areas to help out. What is frustrating is that majority of such Organisation go to the west, south and some parts of the North.

So, my friends, we have to stand firm , work hard and uplift our areas. We are not going to rest untill something is done. Im not lobbying for support my self but we need something to trickle down from the national cake. Mr.President, the people of Luwero pay taxes just as other Ugandans in other parts of the country. MR. President you have promoted sectarianism with impunity.

Read the Manifestos of 1996, you talk of the way forward in Ugandan politics by not promoting sectarianism based on regional variations of where people come from. But look at Luwero, is it because we are so daft to have people in today's Government to represent our problems? The likes of Sayyida Bumba, she came back because she wanted votes from the people but twenty years, even power lines have just started to reach some areas near Semuto.

Mr.President, how much is allocated to rural electrification? This question can also be answered by your Miss Sayyida Bumba.

Sayyida you claim to come from this region but why were rural electrification programmes designated for others areas and Luwero Triangle was never considered a prority? Is this the way to back to us? I'm not saying other areas did not fight or support the war but why again did other areas refuse to support you especially Mbarara and other areas?

we are not asking you Mr.President for just help, thank you. But this is the duty any president would bear on his shoulders (Development of the country as a whole not some regions only)after all we pay taxes and others forms of duties imposed on us. Lets get something back in return.

How much are you worth Mr. President anyway? $15Billion? What about your brother Saleh? And the likes of Muhweezi? Is this human greed or what? Switch away from this politics of regional variations to suit your political ends. Come 2011, think about the emty promises you have made for over twenty years!

Thank you

Son of Semuto.

Brig. Charles Otema is not a good man

Dear editor I want to tell you about this man Otema who is now brigadier commander. This man was at Arua Bondo barracks working as MTO during Obote 2. He was the body guard of Opik opoka. These people killed many people in Arua after TZ forces left the area. During the brief period of Okello he was promoted to Lt. These guys tried to kill the then Lt. Dan Opito who was also in the same Barracks. He actual had to flee to Zaire for his life then Opito went to a Senegalist "JUJU" man to help him the man told him that he will be allowed back after which he came back and was sent to Jinja up to now he is there. This Otema is not even a good commander he never fought any war at all.

Keep an eye on our OIL!

Dear RK, we thank you the wonderfull job of informing Ugandans- we are nolonger the sleepy and blind ones we used to be before RK came online.

Now one issue you've so paid attention to is about the OIL. We have OBs who are now working with some of the Exploration companies, but if you listen to their stories one day Ugandans may wakeup only when the Oil Fields are being closed down. Please RK investigate the Oil issue as much as you can and please inform the public. MPs should also pressurise Govt to make the documents/agreements known to the public. Why should they waste our money discussing other irrelevant issues when our resources are being stolen by one family and a few other thugs?

Vincent Nuwagaba's sad fate

RK,

Recently I came across a young man by the name Vincent Nuwagaba, an MA Human Rights candidate at Makerere University who was very vocal at the Ekimezza but went missing. He looked zonked and insane. Apparently he was arrested twice and dumped at CPS. In the second episode, he was dumped at Butabika Mental Hospital where he was sedated. Apparently he escaped. Now his face is goosebumped and drools typical of lunatics. I am afraid he is a gone case, just like his namesake Moses Nuwagaba, once a rabid critic of Museveni on Kimezza who, is now in hidding.

Moses Nuwagaba double-crossed the regime. First he was with Reform Agenda, which became FDC. But he quit FDC of petty disagreement and crossed back to NRM. Such a person is a green snake in the green grass. He invited trouble. He one wrote about his ordeal in Radio Katwe and has never done it again. Being human we hope he has learnt his lesson and start thinking straight.
