How Allen Kagina, NRM vultures raided NSSF money

The Managing director of NSSF, David Chandi Jamwa, made a terrible mistake when he announced to the nation that NSSF fund had hit a trillion Shillings.

When the news reached the vultures and scavengers in the NRM government, they all rushed to Jamwa to grab a share of the money.

The first was Allen Kagina, the girl from Nyabushozi who grew up sharing the room with calves in her father's mud hut. She went to sign for her share purportedly on behalf of Uganda Revenue Authority where she is the Commissioner General.

Remember she has been boasting of surpassing her collection target since she took her office but has failed to put up even one room as a URA office. She borrowed 16 billion at 12% interest and I can bet you will never see the building completed in your lifetime.

She was followed by an NRM member Frank Tumwebaze from Kibaale who requested for $12 billion on behalf of his farmers' association. It was reported that the NRM also rushed to borrow money to build a 10 storey office in Kampala. See NSSF, Kibale MP sign 22b investment deal

How can you trust someone who has been in power for 22 years and has not put up a single room? That money would have been considered a donation to the party by NSSF since they are used to free money.

Then lastly came Mbabazi and Company who demanded for 11 billion to buy shares in their bank.

URA has failed to maintain even the most basic facility, a parking yard. The government is chasing World Bank loans for a task which consists of nothing more than keeping an open ground level enough for trucks to navigate! See Border paralysed by drivers' strike - Editor

Red Pepper story : Amama wants to send his boss to the ICC

http://www.redpepper.ug/news.php?item=2436

NSSF PROBE REPORT

There are tremors in security minister Amama Mbabazi's camp after it merged last night that the bespectacled learned friend is a politically dead man.

Besides being convicted by the parliamentary probe in the mind boggling Shs11bn land transaction with NSSF, President Yoweri Museveni has directed intelligence organs and police to find out where the security minister put the money he sold from the land.

State House sources told us last night that the President wants security to establish how Mbabazi spent the money and on what.

Reports indicate the president called for investigations after receiving information that the NRM secretary general did not buy the shares in the National Bank of Commerce as he had earlier alleged.

Mbabazi told the media that he used the money to buy the entire shares held by the Gidoomal family, who were the majority shareholders in the National Bank of Commerce (NBC) However, the transfer is not yet reflected by the registrar of companies, seven months after the purchase.

Under normal circumstances, after selling or buying shares in a company, one is supposed to file a document called Transfer of Shares before the registrar of companies indicating how many shares have been bought or sold and by who.

It has since emerged that Mbabazi did not file the transfer of shares document, raising suspicion that he did not buy the shares.

President Museveni now wants security to verify the primary cause of the multi-billion deal. During a recent meeting with the members of the parliamentary probe committee at State House, Museveni revealed that his security boss is neither a greedy person nor a businessman.

However, sources say this was a sarcastic statement and the big man had already commissioned a squad of top investigators to find the truth as to why Mbabazi wanted shs11bn.

"He is not so into business. He is a man of law and politics. What did want Shs11bn for?", an intelligence source privy with the investigations told us last night. "Intelligence is informed that there must be a very big cause as to why this man of God wanted the money," the source added.

We have also established that shortly after his European tour last month, Museveni summoned embattled NSSF Managing Director, Chandi Jamwa at his ranch in Kisozi.

During the meeting, according to our sources, Jamwa confided in Museveni that Mbabazi and Suruma pressurized him to give them Shs11bn. "All they wanted was money; nothing else.

They are so powerful and it was hard for me to resist their plea. You know what I mean, your Excellence!!" Jamwa told Museveni as he pulled out his white hankie and wiped away tears that were flowing uncontrollably.

In that meeting, Museveni's aide who was around said: "These are the same people who are fighting Bukenya." Museveni did not raise any objection to this statement, raising fears that Mbabazi is no longer in good books of the big man.

Interestingly, intelligence is also investigating reports that Mbabazi's camp was drafting a detailed report on Museveni's alleged war crimes and wants to send it to the ICC to secure his indictment! Sources say the ICC team was in the country recently and met with members from Mbabazi's camp.

Courtesy of classified intelligence information before us, Mbabazi's camp is well equipped with shocking dossiers of war crimes committed by most generals in the army during the Luwero triangle war in the 1980s and the brutal Northern war.

Intelligence has also been thrown into panic after it emerged that the Arab community has invested a whooping $50m in NBC, the bank which Mbabazi owns.

There is a general feeling that such a huge amount of money from terrorist-branded Arab countries at the disposal of a security minister and at the same time a secretary general of the ruling party is a real big security threat.

"We are really worried. Shs11bn in his hands and U$50M at his disposal! This is unacceptable. He is the security minister but we must investigate him," a security source added.

The parliamentary probe report shows that Mbabazi peddled political influence and had a conflict of interest in the controversial land deal.

It shows that at one time, Mbabazi's business associate, Amos Nzeyi told Jamwa that Museveni had allowed the Temangalo land purchase and that he had even talked to the first lady Janet Museveni about the deal on his mobile cell phone!!

UN sanctions more deaths in Uganda

United Nations turned away from atrocities committed by Museveni and reward a seat to an East Africa country convicted of war crimes onto its most powerful organ the UN Security Council.

The elections which were held during the 63rd session of the UN General Assembly at the United Nations in New York on Friday, October 17, saw Museveni's Uganda polling 181 vote to secure a seat as a non-permanent member on the UN Security Council.

By rewarding Uganda, a country which in recent years violated the very same ideals of; peace, respect for human rights and devotion to International law all of which the UN pledges its responsibility to protect, puts all world citizens in the jaws of a crocodile.

The International community also ignored the indictment of Uganda by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) for war crime in the DR Congo where an estimated 7 million people died as a result of UPDF (Uganda People's Defence Forces) occupation of Eastern Congo. Uganda was found liable for massive human right abuses in Eastern DR Congo, including genocide and theft plundering Congo resources by ICJ in its December 2005, ruling and ordered Uganda to pay $10bn to DR Congo. (http://www.icj-cij.org/docket/files/116/10455.pdf)

But the Security Council which consist of 15 member; five permanent member with veto power and 10 non-permanent member without veto power who seat for the two years term. Now Uganda is ready to take up the seat for the 2009-10 period.

Also ignored is the fact that of the forced displacement population in Northern Uganda of over 2 million people mainly ethnic Acholi for the last 20 years into concentration camps called "protected Villages" by Uganda government. The "Protected Villages" where the World Health Organisation ( WHO) recorded an excess rate of 1000 deaths per week (higher than Iraq and Durfur) and ordered the government to close them in 2005. (See; http://www.blackagendareport.com/) The camps still open today and people continue to die from treatable diseases.

In the past the human rights record of countries seem to have not been considered much when evaluating non-permanent member of the UN Security Council. However, in todays world where genocides and conflicts within nations are rampant the make-up of Security Council is more important that ever. By rewarding Uganda a seat on the UN Security Council despite its human rights records and convictions for war crimes threatens to destroy the authority and credibility of the United Nations as enforcer and protector of International law.

Other four members include; Japan who polled 158 for the Asian slot after outsmarting Iran, Mexico with 185 votes for the Latin America and Caribbean, Turkey with 151 for the Western European and other groups and Austria with 133 votes for the western European and other groups.

Mexico and Uganda for the Latin America and Caribbean and Africa slots respectively ran unopposed for their seats within the regional groups while Japan faced competition for the Asian slot from Iran. While Austria and Turkey also had opposition from Iceland for the Western European and other groups.

Hit the Museveni regime where it hurts most

Dear Editor,

The most scaring thing about Ugandans is the way we conveniently look another way as the Museveni's and the Mbabazi's masterbate and rape the national coffers with impunity. Uganda could be the only place on this God's world where a public figure robs the national treasury and gloats about it openly in public.

Where else could a man like Suruma rob the public of eleven billion and turn around and fire the man who tried to stop him? You've all heard Museveni now threatening NEMA and every other stakeholders who seem to be pointing an accusing finger at Mbabazi. I thank Capt. Vincent for giving a very logical explanation for Museneni's behavior. Really, Museveni, instead of being the Puppet Master, the way many people think, has become a puppet to the wolves around him. That's why those who expect him to ever turn thing around are in for a long, long wait.

It doesn't help for us to continue making noise over this trend. Uganda had degenerated into the rot we find ourselves in today because after we talk and discourse over these rots we usually thump our chest as if we've achieved the greatest victory. Museveni and co, meanwhile, smile, knowing that they've licked us yet again.

The men who are robbing the country today and rubbing it in our faces that they are smarter than the rest of us are the same people who will present themselves to the electorates come 2011. They are the same people who know that the police and army and the CMI and the PGB and the JATT, and name it, are in their hands. They know that our votes count for nothing. They know that the electoral commission is under thier firm control. And they are right!

We can't rely on electoral politics to change things in Uganda. Not now. Not before we can radically change our laws and meaningfully reinforce our institutions, including the parliament, the courts, and above all the constitution, making that leaders are truly accountable to the people.

In the meantime, we can take a few hints from Museveni and fight back at him and his cronies in ways that truly hurt. Museveni has been effective because he systematically targets the small people as the most effective way to isolate the big shots in the opposition rank. It works most effeciently!

Museveni knows blackmail because he knows the power of blackmail. It has made him a hostage to the likes of the Mbabazis. Museveni knows how to financially cripple his opponents. You all know what he did to Dr Kigundu and is currently doing to the Baganda and a host of others.

So we are shamelessly going to copy his strategy. We're not doing this out of spite but as a clear strategy. We are fighting a very unconventional battle. (Our opposition parties and civic societies have failed to make real impact because they can't think outside the box. As a result, Museveni easily beats them.) Thus we'll employ unconventional means. And we want armies of patriotic fighters.

We call ourselves 'The Ugandan Patriots' We are some kind of virtual guerillas. Museveni knows guerillas are capable of doing. He understands their language and soon after we have got our acts together we will show him and his cronies that we are a force to reckon with.

We are working on identifying the real enemies of our country wherever they are -- in politics, in the public service, in the media, in the courts, in the civic service, indeed wherever they will be found.

One of our strategies will be a sustained boycot of businesses that have cleary shown themselves to be unpatriotic. I think it will be appropriate to shoot down one target at a time, whether we are dealing with an individual or business entity. We will not rush anything but patiently work with the insistence of the devil until the target is destroyed beyond any reasonable doubt.

Just keep your ears to the ground and watch this space.

Amama promised electric cookers to village women:

Dear RK,

For the those who are surprised that President Museveni has been promising "air" to people whenever he goes to address rallies, his "air" cannot be compared to what Mr Mbabazi promised the people of Kanungu.

He promised to provide electric cookers for all the women in Kanungu so that they forget suffering with firewood.

As for the poor health services in the district, he promised to acquire mobile hospitals in form of big vans that will be visiting every village regularly for their treatment.

Talk of hot air!

By the way, did you know that Mbabazi' brother (same mother same father) earns a living at the Baganda Bus park directing passengers for different destinations to their respective buses? He says Mbabazi told him never to bother him with his problems.

LET US HIRE RWANDA TO MANAGE OUR INFRASTRUCTURE.

Dear President Museveni, the way things are now, we need people who have a sense of responsibility to run our affairs. Recently I visited Rwanda and saw how they are handling their affairs within a few years they have been in power compared to your government and I wish you could hire them to run your government for one Kisanja as you sit in Rwakitura and watch how Governments are run. I am sure you can learn something form them that missed your brains.

The Banyankole have a saying that "Eka eshobire, nyineeka ayeyanjurira abaana be"

You need to start appearing on TV every night and inform the Ugandans that you are still the president and in control otherwise some of us think you are no longer in Uganda.

BK, Kampala.

Update

Reply to : Let us hire Rwanda to manage Uganda

Dear Editor,
am an ardent reader and visitor on this site. I really appreciate the updates we get here. However, I got pissed off when I read a letter from Bk in Kampala suggesting that we hire Rwanda to manage us. This is avery belittling and foolish statement I have ever seen here. This BK seems to suggest Ugandans are very dense and cannot manage their nation. I have to tell you that its Museveni with his henchmen like Kutesa ( actually Gutesa) that are maliciously killing our country. We have had better regimes before in far as intergrity is concerned. We still have patriotic Ugandans here that a far better educated to lead this nation.

I do not see any way in which Rwanda should be compared with our nation. If Rwanda is better managed, why are Rwandase adamant at going back to their country? Immigration officials in Kabale will testify to this. Much as we have many poor people here, Rwanda has very many impoverished people. There is CORRUPTION in Rwanda only that PK is very iron handed and feared. This never comes to the world to know about it.

Bottom line is : This is Uganda and it is Ugandans that will put it in order after these Morons have gone. As for Rwanda, fine, if you have the best government as we are meant to believe, fine. Thank God BUT do not insult Ugandans as a nation. When you see a nation bigger than yours, just bow down. We gave Rwandans a safe haven when they were busy buthering each other....and the reward we get is insults ilke this! To date many of them have refused to go home they are permanently residing in nakivale. Mbu they they will die here. Just Leave Ugandans alone with their rotten govt. whether after 100 years, This nation will be CLEAN. FOR GOD & MY COUNTRY Masaba J
Mbale

Mr Masaba, the sentiment BK was expressing might have been different from the one you picked up.

Update 22 Oct 2008

This is a response to BK:

You suggested that Museveni engages Rwandans to develop Uganda - you seem to forget one thing: that Rwanda is governed by Banyarwanda, not foreigners who love their country/people. Uganda is governed by Banyarwanda who don't give a damn about Uganda and Ugandans. They don't reasure our forests and they have let buveera be littered everywhere in Uganda. They know that one day they will leave this beloved country of ours and go home leaving us with a destroyed/ruined country. The moment you send these ruling Rwandese packing and have Ugandans run their country is the day you will see development in Uganda.

The only True Mukiga in Paliament is Hon Banyenzaki

Dear RK,
I would like to inform all of you that there is only one true Mukiga in parliament by the name of Banyenzaki. The rest who represent former Kigezi in Paliament if you are to find out their origin, then you will understand why they behave the way they behave. For example;

Mababazi is not a Mukiga but a Munyabutumbi. These are commonly found in Kanungu District and their characteristics is they are well known for greed especially for meat and fish. Those in the village, when they cook fish or meat, after the meal, the keep the bones and next day add more water to get soup for that day just to make sure the bones are thrown away when they are devoid of any trace of meat. So when you hear Mbabazi called "Karya Sausage", don't be surprised. It is in his genes.

Perezi Ahabwe: He is closely related to what we call the Batwa. The mother is a Mutwakazi(female Mutwa) married to a Mukiga man.

They are well know for trying to please and entertain their masters for small rewards so don't be surprised that he is one of the MPs on the NSSF probe committee that was acting as Mbabazi's Aide.

They are also known for being short and their features on their feet in Rukiga called "Emihaama" and I don't mean "emihama". The two words are different. You just need to look at his feet to understand what I am talking about.

The other Mps are from Ndorwa and have been brought up in the suburbs of Kabale Town and their behaviors have been influenced by the urban hard life. Those cannot potray a clear picture of how the Bakiga behave (always open and with no fear or favour).

If you want to know the true characters of Bakiga, look at Justice Kanyehamba and Hon Banyezaki. Forget about Rugunda who was brought up in the biggest slum of Kabale Town called Bugongyi. His behaviour moves with the wind.

Dear Sir, thanks for your amusing letter it made some of us laugh. But we hope you find time to disabuse yourself of the notion that goodness or badness comes from belonging to a tribe.

By now, it should be fairly obvious that there is no race, tribe or clan that does not have its fair share of both villains and heroes.

Uganda 'develops' from pearl of Africa to gutter of Africa

Dear editor may I say that this thug M7 should stop his school boy bullying tactics by saying that those who says that he has not done any developments should go to hospital, this guy has recked our country to the extend that every body is fleeing the country. if you could just come to London and see by yourself the way Ugandans are looking for a stay in London this would tell you the extent.

during Amins time there were no large communittes of Ugandans abroad but today we are so many that even the British are now sending some back home. they are fed up with us you could see many queuing at the home Office applying for Asylum. others are working in illegally due to the luck of Imagiration papers, others are killing themselves due to the shame of being sent home, they just jump into the trains to be killed. or others are going mad due to the stress of being locked up. I have even Pilots who are here looking for jobs they say that they fled due to the tribalisation in the Army.

so this thug should just shut up he has done the worst to us we are no longer from the pearl of the Africa we are from the gutter of Africa!

Yours Aluma UK

Dealing a severe setback to those who thought buffoonery and humiliating gaffes had ended with Idi Amin, our self ordained distinguished professor of politics and economics boldly unveiled his newest thesis, that talking on a mobile phone (especially to someone in legendary cities like New York) is a sure measure of development.

Citing the proliferation of mobile phones, Museveni said villagers in the remote Nyakinengo could receive phone calls from as far as New York in America.

"You are talking endlessly on your mobile phones. Even people in potato gardens, banana plantations and those herding goats have mobile phones. It's a sign of development," Museveni commented.

See NRM critics need mental check-up, says Museveni

Perhaps to develop more, we should move to Somalia.

"A call from a Somali mobile phone is generally cheaper and clearer than a call from anywhere else in Africa" (Economist, Dec 20th 2005)

Its time for a Hall of Shame

Dear Radio katwe, I wish to put my request and if you could be kind and publish for us the list of Mps in uganda who received 5.000.000, five million to change the Constitution because those who will be still alive will be charged with treason according to section 2 of the constitution of uganda.

Aother list is the army officers who killed people in Mukura incident.

Anothe list is the group of people per district who distrubute salt, paraffin, soap, to peasants in return to votes. A good example is Mr.Peter Rwakifari, who was doing this kind of thing in Kiyaga, Bumbaire, Bushenyi district in 2001.2005.

We want this list so that these people should face law of bribery, intimidation etc to our poor peasant voters.

Musinguzi,
Bushenyi.

What is Gen David Tinye really up to?

Dear RK,

I have a friend who works for one of the intelligence organisations and recently shared some sensitive and shocking information how General David Tinyefuza wanted to humiliate the Kabaka had the security men deployed to carry out this act not developed cold feet.

According to this friend, troops were deployed at Nakasongola Airforce Base from early October as part of an operation headed by Tinyefuza disguised as an operation to find out if some soldiers in the factory are selling arms and bullets.

However, on the night of 6th of October, according to this source, General Tinyefuza briefed them that they may have to arrest the Kabaka should he proceed to Nakasongola. This came as a shock to the soldiers according to the security operative.

Part of the deployed involved deploying Mambas in case of possible riots during the arrest and deploying the so-called kiboko squad (he says these are UTODA thugs).

40 UTODA thugs were brought in on the night of the 6th of October under the disguise that they were to maintain traffic. The security operative claims each of them was given more than 2 million shilling to perform this shameful act of participating in arresting the Kabaka and lots of Uganda waragi.

The idea behind Tinyefuza's strategy was to create chaos and in the confusion, the so-called Kiboko squad thugs would undress the Kabaka and have him handcuffed while photos were being taken.

This way, Tinyefuza and his godfather Museveni would bring shame to the Kabaka and Buganda hoping that in turn Kabaka would seek exile. According to this security person, Tinyefuza is busy working on a plan to exile the Kabaka and part of the security the Government claims to be giving the Kabaka are some rogue elements from CMI who spending time spying on the Kabaka and taking photos. Sooner than later these photos will find their way to red pepper and other news papers.

Ugandans, what type of people are these NRM, Museveni and Tinyefuza who forget they are humans and have children and grand children.

This is a Government that is increasingly becoming criminal in nature. For General David Tinyefuza, you can handcuff Besigye and get away with it. With the Kabaka, you will not leave to celebrate your act even for a day. Stand warned.

Thanx to one MP who tipped the Kabaka not to proceed with the visit to Nakasongola otherwise the shame would be too much to bear.

Musa

Dominique Makeli free at last, after 14 years in prison

RWANDA : 16 October 2008

Radio reporter freed after being held for 14 years on genocide charge

Reporters Without Borders has learned that Dominique Makeli, a former reporter with state-owned Radio Rwanda who had held since 1994 on a vague, genocide-related charge, was released on 13 October.

"This is excellent news and a great relief," Reporters Without Borders said. "Like fellow Radio Rwanda journalist Tatiana Mukakibibi, who was freed in November 2007 after 11 years in detention, Makeli has suffered an incredibly long ordeal during which he was unable to defend himself against slanderous allegations. We hope he will now be able to live peacefully, after these 14 years of isolation and injustice."

Makeli's release on 13 October was a result of his acquittal by a gacaca (popular tribunal) in the Kigali district of Nyarugenge on 5 October. Detained since 18 September 1994, he had been transferred from one detention centre to another, ending up in Kigali central prison, also known as "1930".

A public prosecutor told Reporters Without Borders in October 2001 that Makeli was accused of inciting genocide in his reports. While covering a supposed appearance of the Virgin in Kibeho, in the west of the country, in May 1994, Makeli reported that she was supposed to have said: "The parent is in heaven." The prosecutor insisted that, in the context of that moment, this was taken to mean, "President Habyarimana is in heaven" and was interpreted as a message of support for Habyarimana and, by extension, the policy of exterminating Tutsis. Both Makeli and many local independent observers disputed that interpretation.

During its visits to Rwanda, Reporters Without Borders met Makeli several times in prison. A very religious person whose health deteriorated steadily during his years in prison, he always insisted on his innocence. He was transferred to Arusha, Tanzania, in 2007 to appear as a witness before the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) and was returned to prison in Rwanda afterwards.

Pictures of the Ugandan Embassy in Belgium?

Did you get the pictures of the Uganda Embassy in Belgium? Can you find a way of putting on your website for Ugandans to see the rot of the nation but on a smaller scale? Belgium is a reflection of the motherland, rotten schools, rotten roads, rotten buildings, rotten president and his rotten family, rotten cabinet, rotten NRM, rotten M.Ps, rotten hospitals, rotten.....rotten...rotten!!

Also, please provide more details about the Iceland bank collapse cos from what we hear, that is where Uganda's billions are stashed away by Omunyarwanda Kaguta. What if the fool has lost it all! On the news, there is a report that the whole nation (Iceland) might have to close because of the melting economy. No wonder Omunyarwanda Kaguta is in a panic! Perhaps it is time he returned our money to where it was supposed to be in the first place: roads, rails public schools, hospitals colleges, universities.

[Names withheld ] not with ka poison everywhere !! I still have a family to raise.

"WELCOME TO HELL", an apt greeting for Uganda under Museveni? Then maybe the picture (top left) is in the right place.

22 years and he's still struggling with kindergarten concepts!

President Museveni is a very funny creature. Recently, while addressing a congregation at a prayer breakfast meeting at Hotel Africana in Kampala, he criticized the donor countries (shhhhh!---- he said the opposite of donor is donee) for not considering the basics that should be put in place before the other goals can be archived. He listed the following as the basics:

1. Electricity,
2. Transport eg Railways and
3. Agriculture.

What amused me is that these are the very areas that he has neglected in his country for the last 22 years.

Dear RK, past presidents Amin and Obote had rail transport from Kampala to Kasese, Museveni has no railway to any part of Uganda. The rails were removed and sold off to make iron bars for building shopping arcades. Remember all shopping arcades are full of substandard products from China. Shoes which last for one week go for 15,000 to 20,000 UGshs.

After 22 years in power, President Museveni has just started on a Power project to generate electricity. Presently, the less than 10% of Ugandans who use electricity depend on thermo electricity supplied by UMEME at the highest price in the World.

For the last 22 years, Agriculture Ministry, which is the backbone of Uganda's economy gets less funds annually from Government than State house alone.

Was he indirectly telling Ugandans that for the last 22 years he didn't know the basics for development?

PK Mbarara.

Dear PK, thank you for those good points. The first question should be what does he know? Fine speeches maketh not a man. This is one big mistake many of us Ugandans made in the beginning. Museveni would stand up, read a speech writers script and we bought it all, thinking that it was him talking.

But you meet Museveni off stage, "after hours" in his native element then you will wonder, really, how did such a man as this "creature" come to lead a whole nation?

The Museveni regime like all others will pass. But that is one question we ought to think about very carefully.

Ugandans, your president has a nice secret for you

Dear RK,
Good news to all Ugandans!!

According to the website www. Weloveafriacans, our own President is now worth $ 1.7 billion Dollars. This is a good job done by someone who came empty handed from Lowero jungles where he fought for 5 years. For those who want to conceptualize what this means, Museveni has been making $214,647 per day equivalent to 376 million Uganda shillings per day for the last 22 years; Remember, this is just from his cows and the milk and one boda boda. He needs to share his secret of how to mint money in such a short time so that he can realize his Boona Bagagaware program.

Confusing Primitive accumulation of Wealth with Development.

Dear RK,
It is regrettable that a whole President of a country can confuse primitive accumulation of wealth with Development. The mushrooming houses and shopping malls in Kampala are owned by less than 1 % of the population in Uganda. What the President proudly calls middle class people are those who can access government funds in one way or another and they use the money for their personal gain. This is the money that should have been used to work on the roads, railways and hospitals. All these infrastructures have gone to the dogs.

Before CHOGM meeting, government spent a lot of money to sell itself abroad yet all the embassy buildings are condemned and are for demolition. Do we still have leader in this country or we have war loads sharing their loot?

TN Kabale.

Action, not words breaks the chains

Dear RK,
Thanks for your good noble work by providing us the means to know what is going on in our beloved country. I have written to RK before. But my article never came out. I had said that, we have talked enough about our disappointments and there is time for everything. KAGUTA will never go away with word sonly. The only language he knows well is the gun.We need to think deeply about this. I am greatful to one writer who said that 'boycotting business owned by the thugs must be started. This is one way to fight back. The other way is to start doing exactly what M7 did, by eliminating his associates. From the LC, RDC, CMI,ARMY OFFICERS, MP'S AND MINISTERS. Ugandans, we have the means to do this.Let Buganda rise up to the moment, let Ugandans free themselves from this rotten regime. A snake is always a snake. And keep the records. One day we will need them to claim our money back fron ICELAND.
Dr. M.

Uganda not ready for nuclear energy

Dear RK,
Dr Izael Pereira Da Sliver wrote an article in the Daily monitor, one of Uganda News papers of 6th October 2008, wondering why Uganda should not go nuclear as far as power generation is concerned. I would like to inform the good Doctor that for a country that has failed to run a railway line, failed to run one national hospital, and failed to generate hydro electricity for the last 22 years, failed to run a single airline, it will be suicidal to tell them to run and maintain a nuclear plant.

JJ, Tororo

Suggestions on how to fight back

Dear Patriots,
I have been waiting for this chance to happen and we start striking and hitting at the thieves businessess. First is to boycott things like pepsi cola and its products,HOTLOAF BAKERIES ETC. SECONDLY LETS ACT LIKE ISRAELS TO STRIKE AT OUR ENEMIES USING DEADLY WEAPONS OR HOME MADE PETROL BOMBS, We can target the big shots, because now they know that nothing is goona happen to them. If a person can target their business, their associates, their fancy cars, their animals, they will realise that things will not be easy for them in the near future. South Africans disorganised their tormentors this way until they succumbed and got their indepedence.

Violence is a step back

Dear patriots using petrol bombs and deadly weapons as suggested will not lead our country anywhere. Take example of Iraq, Somalia and etc.Readers democracy is the best way and let us not put our country in a situation that our children will live to regret.

"Mbabazi" insurance policy, worthy of Rome

Dear RK,

Please accept my message of congratulations for yet another well investigated and predicted outcome of the bull fight between two evil bulls in the kraal. I am referring to your article entitled "Amam Mbabazi checkmates Museveni", dated 19/10/08, and the three other previous articles on this subject, especially the one entitled, "The question and strong chains that binds M7 to Amama" dated 15/09/08. To use a chess parlance again, nice to see that his "bishops" were powerless to prevent the checkmate, as it will most probably be the case, come the day of reckoning. May I add that when (not if) this evil regime collapses; RK will have singlehandedly brought about our liberation without firing a shot, just by the stroke of a pen, as it were!

I must also register my support for to the two patriotic commentators on this topic, one Tim B and O.C Wilson, respectively.

You revealed in your article that, "Amama Mbabazi has instructed a law firm in France to release a dossier containing evidence of all the crimes they both committed should he die before Museveni. ... even in the case of his death being officially due to natural causes". I must admit that such ingenious idea could not have been revealed to Amama Mbabazi by man but by the supreme boss of the underworld, the prince of darkness. A brilliantly conceived idea! I must take off my hat for him, not for his successful looting of our resources and the killing of thousands of our gallant citizens, whose presence might have changed the course of the destiny of this country, but for successfully wrong-footing the one who has recently crowned himself second to God.

What struck me most was that there is a cunning resemblance of Mbabazi's escape plan to a similar incidence in Roman classical history: This notorious Roman Emperor immediately on ascending to his throne set out to rid Rome of all fortunetellers to the surprise of all his citizens. The reason was off course was not because the pagan emperor was more upright than the others before him, but because Rome in those days was awash with stories of, conspiracies, intrigue, regicides, backstabbing, mysterious deaths by poisoning, etc. just as it is today in the court of Emperor Yoweri Kaibanda (aka Kaguta) Museveni, pm(post Mayombo). Unfortunately for the Roman Emperor, those soothsayers were notoriously accurate at their predictions of deaths of their leaders and major future events in the courts of imperial Rome . The Emperor was so scared of his future that he set out to banish the culture of gossips in Rome. For fear of their lives Roman Senators and stalwarts moved with their eats and drinks, plus a "pinch of salt (anti-dote)", just likes our MPs and big-wigs in Uganda today!

On coming to power the Emperor lost no time. He ordered that the most famous, (or notorious) soothsayer in the city to be brought before him. The man was quickly dragged before him. The Emperor, who was about to put the soothsayer to death, wanted to test if the soothsayer knew what was about to happen to him; teasingly he asked the soothsayer, "What more predictions do you have?" Before he could answer back he went on to add, "tell me. What is your fate?" Shaking with fear the soothsayer answered, "As I stand before you Lord, I am in grave danger". Then tell me, the Emperor roared, when do you think you will die?" Quick witted as he was, the soothsayer answered humbly, "only days before your own death, my Lord". Shocked by this prediction, the Emperor realized that he could no longer risk bringing about the death of this soothsayer, whose own death is now so inextricably linked with his own. Therefore it became in his own interest to ensure that the man outlived him! Thus the soothsayer became the most protected man in the sate of Rome .

So by drawing this very, well crafted and witty will, a lesser warlock Amama Mbabazi has not only bequeathed a strange testamentary disposition, worthy of a place in law (Succession ) text books, but he has also bought for him cast iron insurance, against the mighty Lucifer. If only the fallen NRM stalwarts took up this type of insurance policy, they might still be with us today. Those who are still alive would do well to take up this type of "Mbabazi" insurance policy.

R K Fan
