Recalling the 'bus of death' causes shivers

Dear RK, Thanks once again for the yeminder on reckless murders during Binaisa and military Commission Administrations. What struck me is the fact that, that Bus, a Leyland, used to come from Kololo (Summit Barracks). By then I was staying with my family in Old Kampala. I witnessed the shooting of one Charles Kabeho on Martin Road at a place called Apollo's Bar. This guy Apollo still remembers, he now owns a big Supermarket on the same Road. Again on Martin Road, the shooting of one mukiga lawyer with his wife. Then the "Panda gari" that always made us sleep outside our homes. Oh my God, those were the Worst times I will never forget. Every body in my age remembers "Mpaawo atali kaaba" Or "Kanywa Musaayi" as we used to call the Bus.

Ugandans Who are brainwashed by Tibahaburwa as an Angel, it is high time You did Your Home Work. The Guy is a psychopatic Killer..Only recalling makes me Freeze.. The Struggle Continues.

Mukiibi explains himself

Dear Editor, I appreciate all those who expressed their minds about my article. All I was asking for is balanced reporting, even when you have a reblious child at home, there are good things that you may appreciate about him/her. Their may be wrongs that this Government has done but the fact is there are good things too, however small. Most of the critiques have been in the same government and used it as a platform to achieve the little or all they have but why should this go on like there has never been good at all.

When i read RK it does not mean i don't want to be informed. Someone said i was "myopic politically", fine. Thats why there are schools may be by the time this year comes round, i will have excelled in realising that there is nothing tangible that this Government has done. Peoplo who want to learn will never try to show that they know, certainly not me. Governments comprise of people some of these people are your sisters, brothers, uncles etc and they make personnel mistakes, why is it that its always one man that you blame and yet when they loot, you enjoy the loot with them.

I will not mention the good that this gov't has done because you all know but pretend not to know but all i was asking is a balanced report and not what most of you thought. I don't care whatever you wish to write just show me one article where you informed us that a school or new road was built.!!!!!

Mukiibi. W

Mr Mukiibi, we understand your desire, but think it is misplaced. At Radio Katwe we try our best with the limited skills to tell people news that cannot be got anywhere else. Blaming us for not being balanced is like going to a Chinese restaurant and complaining that their menu is lousy because they don't serve matooke.

You can get all the good news and alleged 'miracles' M7/NRM has done for Ugandans if you know where to look.

Just remember that there are so many things governments hide from you, what you sometimes read here is nothing. Maybe you should be writing to other Ugandan media and complaining why they don't publish those things. Are they not being unfair to you the news reader by deliberately withholding some information?

If a thief comes to your home, steals property and cuts you on the head but luckily you survive, it sounds strange to say he is a good thief because even though he cut you but at least he didn't finish you off.

Ugandans are not slaves to the government, we pay taxes so that they provide services like roads, schools and hospitals. It is our right, not a favor to be eternally grateful for. In this case, thanking is at everyone's discretion, not a law.

A plea for national exorcism.

RK:
I am currently out of the country but have often times read your site and indeed if all written about the state of affirs in politics, economy, wictcraft and human sacrifice, etc.. then we need a National Day for exorcisms conducted by well know men of God. It is sad Fr. BIll is gone to be with His and our Father, but we can consult God fearing men like Fr. Musaala in Kampala, Fr. Muwonge from Butema in Hoima, Fr. Nsaali Andrew from Karuguza, and many others who have those divne gifts, to rid the nation of malpractices because it is clear there is a big demon haunting leaders.

For some, their misdeeds are beyong comprehension. For sure they will require a lot of fasting if they will enter heaven, but what they have done may be too much to be accepted even in HELL as well. Where will they be? Since they our children we can call for a Nationa Day of Exorcism to regain SANITY.

Human Sacrife is alarmingly high and now we read that City garden is built on human genitals and heads. I must discard all I bought from there. Boycot it also!! DEMONS will haunt any for shopping from there. I thought the thing belonged to the First lady from the money she got from selling some heads of cows and with prayers, but alas!

Response to San Korsin (Letters, Jan 13, 2009)

RK and Readers,

Allow me to correct San Korsin and others who may benefit from the open ended and free information service (valuable knowledge) being provided by RK. From his language Mr. Korsin is eloquent and intelligent, but came close to being simplistic (any offense is regretted). I want to correct him that there is no such thing as biblical legends.

I also want to realigned him that religion is educational and education is religious. Therefore whatever he and others perceived as biblical or Koranic legends, is educational not myths. All one needs is to decipher the contnents and relate to social events.

What is reality? If Korsin thinks about the biblical stories (legends) as he puts it; just like Pastor Kayanja, Kiwedde and Kiwewesi are concerned, then Uganda is in big trouble. What Korsin thinks are Biblical legends, probably nonsense, are classical and grammatical expressions (parables) about social-economic and political expression of reality of the time.

However, crude and archaic as they may read, they were fragments of recollection of unwritten social scientific observations and forecasts, based on events and behavioral pattern, expressed figuratively. This was to enable the people think more critically and collectively, not "literally" on issues that concern the common good.

For example the Biblical prophets of doom like Noah and Prophet Jeremiah, were, what today we call environmentalists and social scientists: political analysts, sociologists alias social gurus (wise men), respectively. These were able to consciously observe and analyze the social (moral), economic, environmental and the political behaviors of leaders of the day. It is from their observations and analyses that they were able to make conclusions; predict and warn politicians and the people about the consequences of their conducts.

In other words Noah and Jeremiah became prophets of doom because they were the proverbial optimists with experiences. Their doomsday prophecies like the floods and destruction of Israel respectively, were based on their unwritten scientific observation, analysis and conclusions. But unfortunately all of them (prophets [wise men]) were either persecuted mocked and laughed at or executed.

Likewise today; Journalist, social-economic, political and environmental analysts warnings are being scoffed at by greedy politicians and industrialists at the expense of the common and global good.

If some section of Ugandans are beginning to realize that president Musevenis political behavior and his government is antagonizing the people; leading the country towards the direction of political upheaval and violence, what is wrong with being a prophet of doom?

UPDF, NV lying about Kony again

UPDF at it again! Lying as always! According to New Vision "Government mouthpiece", they engaged LRA remnants, led by Kony's 2nd in Command Odhiambo and killed 2, captured 2 and recovered 2 SMGs! Can someone imagine the security that would surround either Kony or Odhiambo? That must have been one hell of an engagement, why didn't they capture Odhiambo, since they are moving in very small numbers. And how may, did the UPDF loose? Ankunda is a hardened liar and that explains, why he has been drafted in. Look at telling constant lie, what happened to Bantariza. He grew grey beards before his time!

NURP postponement is a plan to 'buy' northern votes

Dear RK

Thank you for the great work you are doing for us and may the almighty bless ye people of goodwill. Some of us read RK every minute but hardly write. Now I am forced to write about the "postponement" of the Northern Uganda Rehabilitation Programme (NURP) to 2010. Does that ring a bell?

You see, the duty to enlighten those who have not seen the facts is incumbent upon all of us is it not? What pains is that most commentators have missed the point regarding the above. Maybe it is part of the distorted thinking patterns of our community but that is another point. I am sure many will discern that the aim of the postponement is mere electioneering.

You see the national elections will be in 2011 and what a great way to entice voters in the northern region by creating a few village paths (call them roads), erecting a few health centres in the north and giving out a few goodies to people who have not tasted any bread for two decades. This will jolt their memories into the "right" format come 2011 when events are still fresh. Implementing the program currently as scheduled may result into memory loss prematurely before the magical date. Now as long as people still continue to vote with their mouths as is the norm there, woe betide the nation. Yet we think that, advised as they have been, the ball is in their courts. There is no problem with 'eating' the money and voting otherwise. Please advise them RK, save the nation!

Yours

Greetings, fellow Ugandans and well-wishers,

You may have heard of Mr Samuel Lubega's bid for President-General of the Democratic Party (DP) of Uganda whose election is due to take place imminently. As you may appreciate, it is now evident that the country urgently needs a new charismatic, energetic and dynamic leader.
