1. It started with demystification of the gun.
Every able Ugandan has a chance to learn how to fire a gun.
2. Demystification of embezzlement and corruption:
President Museveni has demonstrated that the best way to fight corruption
Is to normalize it. Its now normal and smart to be corrupt. Presently any person who is not corrupt is out of place and faces public ridicule.
If you have access to "government" (i.e tax payers) money and you don't build a mansion in one year, then you are not normal and every body will wonder what is wrong with you.
3. Demystification of electricity:
This is one area where the government has done wonders. Ugandans used to believe that electric power supply is the duty of government. President Museven's movement government has shown that this was just a myth.
Today after government failure to provide electricity every Ugandan is rushing to buy a generator. Those who cannot afford to buy, hire from those who have.
In some hospitals, e.g. Kayunga hospital in eastern part of Uganda, people are asked to hire generators for their patients if a medical procedure needs electricity.
When you pass through Kampala, you appreciate electricity demystification by the NRM-O "Movement" government; every shop, every barber shop has a small generator at the entrance. The noise they make is what makes the Ugandan capital unique.
4. Demystification of bad roads (pot holes)
The movement government has demonstrated that Ugandans don't need roads, what they need are off-road vehicles as demonstrated by Government ministers and Members of Parliament.
5. Demystification of health care:
This is another area where the Movement government has done wonders. People used to think that the government has to provide infrastructure for health care. Mulago hospital, the once referral hospital is now a shadow of itself. If your patient needs intensive care, you have to first give consent that you can afford the stiff bill.
