Dear Editor:
Although, I am not a Ugandan citizen, I have visited Uganda and many other African countries and therefore I have developed a habit of always reading all the Ugandan news papers including Radio Katwe. By way of introduction, I am a citizen of one of the G7 countries of the world.
When I was reading the Daily Monitor of Friday, December 7, 2007, I saw that the president of Uganda Mr. Museveni is asking the impoverished people of Uganda to buy him a brand new Presidential Jet G5. And if I am not mistaken or if my memory serves me right, the current G4 presidential jet was purchased not more than four years ago.
But what interest me most is the reason he is giving Ugandans for the purchase of the new G5 presidential jet; and the reason is that the manufacturers of his current G4 model will no longer be manufacturing this particular model, and therefore its spare parts or the cost of sevicing it will be too expensive for the government of Uganda to have the capacity to do so.
I am not an expert in the aviation industry but my country is one of the leaders in the Aerospace Industry and at least I know that even if a certain model is being phased out, its spare parts will always be there at a very affordable prices since these planes like any other machinery and equipment have a life span within which they have to continue operating, with spare parts continously being made affordable to them by the manufacturers. It is like saying that if Ford Motors is no longer going to produce model 2007 of a Ford car, then the spare parts for this particular model will no longer be there, or if they will be there, they will be more expensive than buying a brand new 2008 Ford model.
Considering that without funding which comes from the tax payers of the Western world, Uganda as a country would not be in a position to fund the running of any of its government ministries on its own, I would really like to hear or read what most Ugandans think about this request by Mr. Museveni of having a brand new presidential jet G5 in favour of the current G4 he has at his disposal.
I strongly feel that the reason for acquiring this G5 presidential jet is not strong enough. I am also very surprised to hear Mr. Museveni saying that most Third World airports are not safe ( "It is also good because you don't land in third world airports which is risky"). Mr. Museveni should be reminded that building First Class Air Ports in third world countries like Uganda is part of his job. My question to Mr. Museveni and his cronies is, how many First Class Air Ports have you built in Uganda after your twenty years of being in power?
I have travelled in many parts of the world and I have seen some Third World countries like Kenya and Ethiopia which has First Class Air Ports like Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and Bole International Airport respectively, which make Museveni's Entebbe International Airport look like an Airstrip.
I am really looking forward to hear Ugandans debate and engage one another on this very recent and yet very interesting topic that Mr. Museveni has thrown to the impoverished people of Uganda who are in dire need of every fund available to them not only to build roads, schools, hospitals and resettled people in the Eastern and Northen part of Uganda who have been living in the Internally Displaced Camps for the last twenty years.
My question is, isn't this Mr. Museveni's usual way of fulfilling his luxurious selfish life style at the expense of the people of Uganda?

When Amin bought the G3 jet, M7 was one of the people who was opposed to that idea and called it a waste of cash.
Why is he buying all that rubbish when there is no medicine in Mulago and other hospitals? Ebola epidemic is now rife, but the thug is just smiling until it gets to his house.
M7 , please grow up. At least there was medicine in all hospitals during Amin's time . Ecconomy was stable. A pound was 14 shillings but now it is 3000 shillings. The man has the guts to brag about the ecconomey when the common person has nothing to eat, cannot pay school fees etc?

THE IMPEREROR'S JET
I can't beleive my eyes when I read certain (current) things about M7.
This guy was once a COMRADE (jamaa) while studying in TZ.
When he came back to Uganda in '70, he said Ugandans were more more economically evolved than the the TZ people - so, they needed a PRAGMATIC sort of socialism.
( DOES THE GUY KNOW THE ETYMOLOGY OF UGANDA)---(e.g : "Okello muganda wa Kasule" means that the Luo Okello is a brother to the munnabuddu Kasule ).
As a Nyerere trained politician, luxury is blasphemous (New state house, new SUV's etc). An atheist fathered a MULOKOLE Pastor.
May be I'm too old to follow the oldman's trend.
Let's hope he doesn't decide to join a MONASTERY, to the dismay of his Kyambaddes and Co.

Regarding M7's Jet Plane one has to quote M7's own words.
M7 is fond of telling the world that: 'You can get a man out of the bush but you cannot get the bush out of him'. He is a good example of his own quotation. One could add that a thief is aways a thief no matter what.
M7 came to power by looting banks in Uganda and that's what he has done through lies and arrogance for the last 20 bloody years.
Some say he is from Rwanda why should he care about the poor in
Uganda?
4.
The man (m7) is completely out of touch with reality. If the prime minister of the UK travels in a chartered plane whenever he has to go on government affairs, what business does a leader of a failed state have in prancing around on the world stage in a private jet?
The man has outlived his sell-by date and should move over before he has to be physically thrown out!
Disgusted

The problem is with us Ugandans! We do not know what we want. We shall go ahead to praise the man, (promise him 5th term victory), instead of demanding better services and returns on our taxes and donor funds. Truly, we have become total idiots. There are no drugs in the hospitals, the roads are full of potholes, doctors are paid pea nuts as salary, teachers are paid peanuts too, and yet we praise him for doing a good job! He spends the money as he wishes b'se he knows we do not know any better, we do not know we can be better than we are now. It's simply pathetic, especially with our elites, who will never speak up.

you the non-citizen of Uganda fm one of G7 countries should YOU first pressurize the plunders(G7) of impoverished Africa pay back what they plundered and pay reperations for the mutilation of Congolese in 1960s, know that they grabbed African land in Zimbabwe and other countries made them slaves in their own country, advise Brown to be DEMOCRATIC enough and share views of Peace with their enemies(MUGABE), advise BUSH TO TALK PEACE WITH TERRORISTS, Advise your leaders in G7 TO REDEFINE AFRICA based on ethnic settlement/MOVEMENTS than dividing them to weaken them, Make them APOLOGIZE for the mess they extended to AFRICA or you apologize on their behalf and then after satisfying us(Africans) blame our innocent loved leader MUSEVENI.
i WISH GOD COMPARES WHAT YOU HAVE DONE FOR THE POOR IN G7 COUNTRIES AND WHAT MUSEVENI HAS DONE FOR UGANDANS AND GIVE US BOTH OF you FOR FINAL JUDGEMENT,I CAN ASSURE YOU YOU WOULD BE EXECUTED WITH STONES AND MUSEVENI WOULD BE SUPPORTED TO GO AHEAD AND BUY G5 GULF JET TO ENABLE HIM PACIFY AFRICA AND THE WORLD.MAY YOUR HEART REST IN PEACE!

Dear Editor,
Our wise and only African Revolutionary needs a new plane. Note from his own address to the MP, he wants the plane to fly him to London and Washington to meet with his Masters and ensure that he keeps betraying the people of Africa.
This thug is no longer welcome in most African countries hence few leaders are willing to allow him landing rights having betrayed almost all leaders in Africa.
This can is only possible if one has origins, which are in doubt, otherwise how do you explain a man who sells his own people.
The is a blessing now that he is slowly being cornered and he has no place or any more friends in Africa and he is increasingly looking at America and Britain for his survival.

Dear Editor,
Ugandans will recollect that Iddi Amin did bad things but can also be remembered for many things, the international conference centre, the foreign embassies abroad in London UK, New York and Washington DC USA, Paris France, etc etc andmany patriotic things like turning the economy in the hands of Ugandans.
Meanwhile the educated Museveni and his lot have stollen every dime out of Uganda. All lucrative contracts and businesses are done by him and his cronies even cleaning and washing of vehicles in Kampala.
Thats how he spends our money to gather intelligence info and the so called infomers tell him what he likes to hear because it is a matter of who gets what. All his children including those numerous ones from his concubines are on pay cheques footed by the tax payers. The country is his family business and they definetely will pay infuture. Nobody lives for ever Museveni your time will come to pass but you will never rest in your grave because your offspring will pay for what you have done to others and Ugandans will get back their money. Kasta we are documenting everything .
9.
Dear Editors,
As Ugandans are running out words of condemnation over corruption and abuse of Chogm funds; all of a sudden the president wants a new jet. Absurd. Another Gulf Stream for a when the present one can still last another decade is infuriating. This is heartless like a mafia boss who gets whatever he ask for at all cost. What is the air mileage of the current jet? Is this a passenger plane? How many times a year does the president travel across the Atlantic and Mediterranean Seas? With the exception of Australia, these are the longest route he goes to.
This is a village mentality. A villager looks at mansion on the hills of Kololo, a five star hotel, a passing Mercedes Benz and says "I want that one". But he does not have a clue e.g. what it takes to purchase one, let alone the cost of maintaining and fueling a Benz. This is the tragedy of Africa: villagers for life presidents. All it takes is thug with an AK47 to move from a villager to an aristocrat over night.
Each time I see M7, his family and corrupt officials open their mouths and brag about this and that, their accomplishment etc.; and yet there is nothing on the ground, it is so disgusting. Just like seeing a cockroach (roach) cross the kitchen floor. From a distance a roach is such a beautiful insect. It looks spotlessly clean: the coat (sic) wings glistens in the light. But the truth is, get close; it stinks. That is M7, his cabinet, MPs and the NRM government as a whole.
What even infuriates most is that the people around him, like the professors and also the donor countries whom we the lowly souls expect to be intelligent enough to see and smell the foul clap trap he emits instead clap with glee each time the man belches all sorts of nonsense!
With a new palace in place at Entebbe and a new jet for "bigenderako" Ugandans can forget about the departure of the Medusa M7. If the president is afraid of third world airports, God forbid the new dinky little G5 jet does not fall from the sky and save Ugandans from eternal misery. The man thinks Ugandans have to serve his insatiable apetite for luxury; even when people are dropping dead left and right due to malaria, Ebola, plague and Cholera!

Emperor M7's new gulf stream 5 jet1!!!! As a constand reader of radiokatwe, I do remember very well when this thug came to power, southern and eastern Ugandan beat their drums and danced while claiming that their son has brought back power in their hands. I'm now shocked at radiokatwe airing out how M7 has distroyed Uganda.
As someone who has suffered since Idi Amin's regime and now M7, I don't have a home to go to, the pain and suffering it too much and it's Ugandans who can put a stop to this thug. Can you imagine Uganda to have no airline services!!, no railways!! Ugandan please wake up from deep sleep. M7 claimed that he is highly educated and also that westerners are the most educated in Uganda. Well I can see why, M7 has destroyed Uganda right from its roots. This is message is to M7, be warned that your days are nearing, you may think that you will escape but your so called people will defintely face the music! We the people of Uganda are watching you!
11.
Dear editor, as I was reading the responses of concerned citizens on M7's G5 jet purchase plan.I was really moved with mixed emotions and I reflected on how the western world is making a good play on our fellow Africans which is to divide and rule so that we will never have anything that belongs to the Africans themselves.
Because its the same people who impose dictators on Africans to be their leaders, they aprove their developmental stategies, they fund their egos(including blood shed) and afterwards, they start pointing fingers that these are dictators, tyrans e.t.c
Just like the sake of Mugabe who was a darling ot theirs for a few years while still serving their interest and he is now the Amin of today.
The Africans should be very careful when handling issues about fellow Africans because there is a snake behind there that is messing you with you. Amin has never been a bad leader neither is Mugabe nor Museveni stop treating the symptoms of the Africa.
Future generation please treat the actual disease that has killed Africa with policies, convention, treaties e.t.c that will always make Africa never to move any step further than what they have been programmed to be.
Who is funding Kony? Who is backing Nkunda in Congo who is Killing Somalia? Who has killed the most people in the world? Who decides on who is to rule where? Is it still Museveni on the above? Check on the education system and tell me how much Africans are taught and compare with the so called developed world, then proove me wrong.
Africa should be free so that they can be able to decide on their destiny and we should learn to respect and confidence in our leaders because its both talked of in the Bible and the Quran.
God bless you
a concerned citizen of Uganda
12.
Please dear reader don't divert our focus on M7! Who is funding kony is not the issue but this time around it is M7 who is messing up Uganda, Buganda, Somalia, Sudan and Congo.
Infact he is behind the insurgency of fellow Tutsi kinsman Nkunda in Congo.
At the moment you have M7 as the Tutsi Mafia boss in the Great region.
In Uganda you have a Tutsi M7, Rwanda Kagame Tutsi and Burundi
Nkurunziza also a Tutsi ! Rwanda and Burundi have recently joined the East African Community and the Commonwealth on the insitigation of M7 in is quest to be the head of the Tutsi led
EastAfrican Federation Using Buganda Soil as a base for the Balaalo Empire, seconded by the Queen when she was in Uganda!
But all this is a dream that M7 has had for ages. It will fail miserably!!!

Museveni's New Jet
Those of you who get surprised when Museveni requests for a new Jet, it means you all know nothing about the Bahima tribe. These are people who have it in their heads as superior yet in reality they are still very primitive and can only be compared to Batwa of Kisoro and Rwanda. If you doubt me go and visit Kiruhuura District where the first family comes from and see the situation on the ground.
Now you can imagine getting someone who shared his bed room with cattle calves used to step in cow dung as he moves around in his family house and grew up on sour milk and put him in state house, What do you expect him to do?? The man knows he is in heaven that's why he can't see himself out of state house and that is why he demands everything he sees in developed countries.
Concerned Ugandan.

Fellow Readers,
This story just makes me livid. Here we are, one of the world's poorest, raggedest nations; we cannot but rely on foreign funds to keep the country running. But you would not believe it if you heard the 'beloved' Mzee brag on and on about how Uganda is advancing. The buffoon is so full of hot wind.
In Northern Uganda, millions are living in unspeakable conditions with little hope in sight for them to leave those concentration camps. An Ebola epidemic hits Western Uganda leading to total chaos there. Mzee however has his mind on yet another new toy, to be 'paid' for by his 'beloved people', & friends (Donors) abroad.
At the end of the day, we are the ones that are the fools. The stupid stupid fools. Yes, Ugandans. Because Mzee & his family are laughing at us behind our backs. Laughing in their brand new toy (Entebbe State House) at us. Laughing at us as he has been doing for the last 20 years. You have to grudgingly hand it to him. He has played us big-time. BIG-TIME.
A reader wrote that we should be free to decide our destiny & learn to respect/ have confidence in our leaders. Well, I say that is true. We should be free to decide/choose our leaders without external OR internal interference (i.e. no state-sponsored election violence/intimidation, vote rigging, bribing etc).
As far as respecting our leaders is concerned, that is a 2-way street. If your leader blatantly abuses his position the way Museveni has always been doing, then all respect for him is lost. Remember, he is NOT supposed to be doing Uganda a favour. That was meant to be his job, something he has totally screwed up. I am disgusted with him & his corrupt and totally incompetent henchpeople.
Museveni had better be watched. Why? Because he is someone who, I fear, if he is ever under any threat, he will take the country down with him. Without fear at all. He is simply the most ruthless person we have had as a ruler. I hope & pray I am proven wrong.
From a shell-shocked Ugandan

As a Ugandan fortunate enough to be living in the west, I am able to observe the whole black race in amazement and in most times horror. We black people hate each other no matter where we are. In the UK this year alone black on black violence has claimed the lives of so many young blackmen. It is the same story in the US.
Jason Whitlock/FOXSports.com has come up with a fitting description for the Museveni type black person who continually perpetuates hate crimes against fellow black people: "the Black KKK". Museveni is a life time member of the Black KKK and is only displaying our self-hatred for all the world to see what level it can be taken up to. He is bent on lynching every last Ugandan by bleeding our country dry. He and brother Mugabe want to keep the black people in their place - "uneducated, outside the mainstream and six feet deep."
Again quoting Whitlock we control the way we want to be remembered by the way we live. I for one cannot wait to read Musevenis epitaph.

Gulf Stream 5
Editorial Team
I have been reliably informed that actually M7 had already placed the order for the Gulf Stream 5 weeks before. His reason for telling the MP's was not to suprise Ugandans when they see it at Entebbe soon.
I am told there is even an article about M7 placing an order for a new jet in the Economist of last week. However am not sure if it was the economist weekly magazine or the economist intelligence unit. Could you please have your researchers look up both magazines of either last week or this week. Ugandans need to know.

Dear Editor,
first and foremost, I wish to exspress my thanks for the great work your doing, I also to extend my sympathy, for if we had a funktioning gov't, you would have used your time to achieve more important "things" than do this tackful research.
You probably work more than all the MPs.
How can the President`s wish to buy a new jet successfully materialise when these MPs claim they they are still in office. If they think M7 is too determined and they cannot influence his decisions, then they had better step dowm to give a clear picture. The point is that we have no parliament.
If this M7 still has a little brainmaterial left, then he should first repair all roads in Uganda to ensure atleast his own transport-safety since it seems he nolonger cares about the transport system of Ugandans at large! I'm sure he travels around Uganda more than to other countries.(At least he should do so)
Is he otherwise planing to fly the Presidential around Uganda?
Well, I think this is the boiling point of stupidity!
This M7 claims he wants to attract investors to Uganda.
Which investor will now want to fly to a country without a proper Airport. (This is the reason M7 gives. Most Airports in Africa are inadquate)
Why doesn't first build a good Airport, Railway und Transport system before talking of attracting investors?
Why can't he mobilise other African gov'ts to impliment secure Airports. The first card he plays when given chance is to create war. No wonder they won't let him land on their soils. Infact they should prohobit him from flying over their countries.
One thing for sure, there is no way M7 and his Clan should lie Ugandans that they are wealthy. They are just thugs.....I would rather be poor and faithful than be but a poor thug!
"When eating, one must ensure that the food you eat doesn't burst the stomach up!"
They should realise we are people but not the Cattle he grew up keeping. He will not rule us like they do to cattle.
This President doesn't care for anyone at all! He has put his family in the hottest spot. Responsible people leave an inheritance for their Children.

Museveni - Gulfstream 5
Dear Editor,
I dare you to publish my comment, it being the left of what everyone on the forum is saying.
I support the purchase of the Gulfstream 5 for two reasons:
-The G5 is a far more superior aircraft to the G4 and is the
safest plane in the sky - Do you not want your head of state safe?
-The president has decided he needs one - If most of you were to stand behind your president, The
country and Africa would surely grow 100 fold - Imagine the human resources spent complaining of all the presidents decisions.
Anyone you put in statehouse would face criticism from the likes of you no matter what they do - What surprises me is the amount of time you people spend criticizing your President.
-He is the elected president and he can do whatever he wants, if you do not like it, wait for the next election and elect someone else. Period.

M7 jet madness
Dear Radio Katwe,
may i take this opportunity to thank the editorial of the Daily Monitor of 22/12/07 asking the President and indeed Members of Parliament to reconsider the decision to buy luxury jet.
the key word here is LUXURY which the country cannot afford.
Even if we did, we still as pointed out have to pay the $10bn plundered by M7 and his henchmen when they looted the DR of Congo.
we the taxpayers have to pay for what they stole to fill their fat bellies and pockets which they seem not to fill on a daily basis.
YES WE CANNOT AFFORD AN EXPENSIVE PRESIDENT who only seeks for his comfort first before the nation. Education Education and Hosipitals road infrastructure must be first priority if you have the nation at heart and claim to belong.
Bravo Bravo daily Monitor.
May be now John Nagenda will be at your ass as he proudly put it that he was appointed to close up newspapers that try to tell the people what is going on in the country. He admitted washing up M7's dirty linen. How can even an educated man sink so low!! Money corrupts. He is quoted as saying the Red Paper will be closed next. Shame on you John!!!!

Dear Katwe,
Did you guys read the article on Sunday Monitor 23rd December Tittled Naguru Remand Home? The writer summed it up very well, these Ugandan youth can not recieve even a candy or a bogoya for Xmas from Museveni and His government, yet we can spend soooooo much to purcahase a jet for billions for one very greedy man and his family to take luxury trips all over the world. Men where and what are our real priorities?
"Oops silly me I guess we have to buy a presidential jet first and buy bogoya for the kids in 2011 at the time of the next elections".
UGANDA MY BELOVED COUNTRY, MUSEVENI SURE HAS RAN YOU DOWN.
21.
Dear editor
The G5 jet to be added to this man's list(M7) because no one will assume its state property is an icing of the cake. Whatever is underneath the top is in no doubt and it needs no rocket science to figure out 2011.
First of all i will thank you for this commitment for flashing light to this dark and dirty government. A 'muukoopi' leading others is similar to the famous Pete Doherty leading the baby shambles band. I am not yet sure if the Ugandan president is searching for fame !!
My question to all Ugandans who live abroad is, when you meet anyone who has heard of Uganda and has never been, what do they say to you the moment you mention you are from Uganda?....IDI AMIN, isn't that true? please correct everyone else from today. We wont be pleased watching yet another "KING OF SCOTLAND".....as the film directors of the recent film already announced the LAST KING OF SCOTLAND.
