Black Star News

As of 11:15 am, Eastern Standard Time USA, Nov 20, the Black Star News wesbite was back online. It had earlier on been disabled by a hacker operating from a server in Uganda. The Publisher and CEO Mr Milton Allimadi put out a statemement as follows:

On the morning of November 20, 2008, www.blackstarnews.com had been disabled. Our worldwide readers have not been able to read any of our articles, columns and reportage on U.S. news, U.S. politics, the presidential elections, African politics, and International politics.

As readers know, The Black Star News is New York's leading investigative newspaper and commentary site. The website and newspaper has been featured on CNN financial news, The New York Times Sunday magazine, The Wall Street Journal, The Daily News, The New York Post, The New York Observer and The Village Voice, due to its investigative articles.

In November 2007, The Washington Post mentioned a Black Star News editorial criticizing Senator Hillary Clinton's supporters for using race-baiting against her then opponent, Senator Barack Obama. Many readers contacted The Black Star News, including people working for Senator Obama (now President Elect) to thank us about that editorial. We also wrote another editorial excoriating Congressman Charles Rangel after he has insulted Obama and the Congressman wrote an official letter acknowledging his mistake.

Our mission is to serve our Global Community by exposing corruption and injustice everywhere, and condemning genocide and tyranny, including in African countries. Readers know that The Black Star News is a serious news publication and that our motto is "Speaking Truth To Empower."

We know that allover the world, the powers that be that prefer to keep people ignorant would like to suppress information. Our cyber detective has traced the source of the hacker to a small server in Uganda. We are asking the New York Police Department and the U.S. FBI to assist us with investigations and once we have more information we will let our Global readers know.

Anyone with information can send it to milton@blackstarnews.com or call (212) 481-7745.

CYBER TERROR A BIG SHAME
The Cyber terrorist who hacked into Black Star News website exponsed the ignorance to the ruling movement. It is only in Uganda where politicians do not view the media as democratic form of communication. In any democratic environment people shouldn?t be denied access to information unless one wants to suppress the norm of freedom to information.

Does such country which encourage rage individuals has predecessors who can advise the leadership. If someone can have the desire to hack into a breathless website, how will then such a person find difficulty to killing or murdering anything with life? This is a very big shame to whoever assistated in committing the crime. Whoever was involved should apologize.
