State House sources close to Muhoozi report that Amama Mbabazi is being "isolated" as punishment for his arrogance and holding president Museveni at ransom over dark secrets.

One source who heard Muhoozi himself talking said the first son gave the reason for Amama's downfall as his having become "increasingly arrogant", and holding his father Museveni at ransom for acts they did togather some 30 years back, when both were leaders in a guerilla movement that fought Amin called FRONASA. According to "Sir Muhoozi", ( as people currying favors from him usually call him), Amama has been a thorn in the side of his father by continually reminding him of their past history, talking of their dark secrets, the betrayal and treacheries they pulled decades ago.

According to the 1st son, it was as if in continually bringing these issues up, Amama was sending a coded message. This bred resentment in Museveni, who feared Amama may one day betray him and let these secrets out. He was also reportedly concerned that Amama has secretly kept some of these explosive secrets with third parties in case Museveni moves against him.

The first son also expressed a personal interest in Amama's demise. He said given Amama's long standing political ambitions, he wants assurances from his daddy that Amama or any other person will not be the next president. "Sir" Muhoozi the "professional" soldier also remarked that he is not ready to risk his career in the army to protect the likes of Amama. This animosity should be taken toggether with the common knowledge that of the tainted NRM big wigs, Muhoozi prefers Jim Muhwezi and is pissed off with his father for keeping him (Muhwezi) at arms length.

Our source has also cited another reason for the friction between Muhoozi, Mzee, Mama (the 3M's as they are called in State House), and Amama. It is the article carried on Radio katwe last year, where Mbabazi narrated a story of a meeting between former Kenyan president Moi, Amama and Museveni. The story, which is a true account, relates how the former Kenyan president belittled Museveni, going to the extent of implying that he is not a Ugandan, and suggesting that if Kenya was to support them in the struggle against Amin's regime then the suave, well presented Amama ought be the President. When this story first appeared, Museveni blew his top. He called Amama and blasted him like a small kid but Amama insisted it was Jim Muhwezi who had leaked the story.

Amama's problems are not limited to the first family. Just before Museveni left for Swaziland last week, a senior UPDF officer, one of the "historicals" was overheard saying this time around, "karya sausage" / "Kanywa wine" or whiskey (nicknames for minister Amama, derived from his alleged partiality for sausages and wine as "high class" foods) was in the cage trapped like a rat!

The general went on to crack all types of jokes regarding Amama, leaving his small audience in stitches. He appeared quite pleased that this time, as he put it, karya sausage was to be politically buried. That maybe the reason you now see Museveni beginning to hop around with one member of opposition party FDC from Amama's home town.
